How to Be Less Anxious and More Engaged

I’m always searching for new stress-reducing strategies that can help us be more engaged at work and at home. There’s no one-size-fits-all fix and often what worked for us at one time doesn’t have the same power later on.

That’s why this insightful article, The Evolution of Anxiety, caught my attention. It’s written by James Clear, the author of a book I’m reading, Atomic Habits: An Easy and Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones. By comparing us to giraffes (yes, giraffes!), Clear explains how living in a Delayed Return Environment can lead to chronic stress and anxiety.

I encourage you to take a few minutes to read this article and share it with your family, friends and team members. Then, reflect on how you can use coping mechanisms like “measurement” or “shifting your worries.” It will help you be less anxious and more engaged so you can enjoy better work-life balance.
