It’s that time of year when kids head back to school and the weather, hopefully, begins to turn cooler. If you’re like me, you find this shift from vacation mode to a “new year” can be invigorating and empowering.
It’s like signing your name to a fresh notebook where all the pages are blank — waiting for you to set your intentions and develop a plan.
We are all students in this game called life. So, sharpen your pencils and tap into that high-energy, “back to school” vibe by recommitting to the goals you say are important to you.
Here are three ways to consider for yourself and your team:
- Clean out the physical, technical and emotional clutter that gets in the way. Start small, with a desk drawer or unnecessary smart phone apps, and notice how your energy increases.
- Create a Vision Board for a clearer picture of where you’re going. Learn Three Reasons Vision Boards Work.
- Read an inspiring book or subscribe to a podcast. I’m now reading The Big Leap to learn about how to work in “The Zone of Genius.” I’m also listening and laughing to NPR’s Wait Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me! podcast because it’s one of the most entertaining ways to keep up with the news.
How do you tap into that “back to school” vibe?
